RoboCamps
A Unique and Innovative Way to Engage K - 12 Students in STEM Learning
Using the design process thinking model and a hands-on approach, FIRST Australia RoboCamps teach students to design, build and code robots to complete a series of challenges. Classes are offered from beginner to advanced level in our purpose-built engineering facilities at Macquarie University and are run professionally with fun and education at the core of everything we do.

K - 12 Robotics Programs
Junior RoboCamps
Ages 5 - 9
Our Junior RoboCamps for ages 5 - 9 introduce participants to the foundations of engineering, design thinking and problem-solving through the use of LEGO Education elements. Fun and engaging program themes connect STEM principles to everyday scenarios, assisting with the understanding of younger learners.

RoboCamps
Ages 10+
RoboCamps for ages 10+ build on the basics of LEGO Robotics with the LEGO Education SPIKE™ Prime robots. Participants engage in exciting themed programs to develop their understanding of engineering design principles, programming skills, computational thinking and the feedback and modification process.

Senior RoboCamps
Ages 13+
Senior RoboCamps introduce participants to more advanced robot design with REV FTC robots, incorporating more complex materials and programming languages. These camps provide the basis for further exploration of FIRST Robotics programs, with a series of challenges putting students' skills to the test.
What can I expect?
FIRST Australia RoboCamps are aimed at all levels of students, with beginner, intermediate and advanced level programs available across all three age groups.
All RoboCamps have a theme and are based on the principles of the FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge programs. Students are initially taught the necessary skills in building and programming that are then applied by participants as they compete in exciting, themed challenges. Our camps are facilitated by FIRST Australia staff and are supported by members of the Thunder Down Under FIRST Robotics Competition team. All staff are required to adhere to state Working with Children Check requirements and are committed to ensuring your child is safe and having fun at all times.
